About The Position

The Corporate Claims Specialist (Specialist, Auto & Inventory Claims) is an entry-level role on the Corporate Insurance & Safety (CIS) Team that supports the investigation, documentation, and resolution of auto and inventory-related incidents. This role partners with internal teams, insurance carriers, vendors, and third-party administrators to help reduce DriveTime’s total cost of risk while ensuring claims are handled accurately, timely, and in accordance with internal guidelines.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of claims handling or adjusting experience, including claim intake, investigation, evaluation, and resolution
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to work efficiently across multiple systems in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.)

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred experience includes auto, property, total loss, or subrogation claims
  • Experience in a corporate, captive, or commercial claims environment is preferred but not required
  • Prior complex liability claims experience, including bodily injury, is a plus
  • In lieu of claims experience, 2 or more years of insurance or risk management experience will be considered
  • Experience with Riskonnect or Salesforce is beneficial but not required
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the intake, investigation, documentation, and resolution of auto physical damage and property claims
  • Partnering with internal teams and leaders, field locations, insurance carriers, police departments, vendors, and the Third-Party Administrator (TPA) to ensure timely incident reporting and data collection
  • Collaborating with internal partners and leadership to determine appropriate courses of action for complex or high-severity incidents
  • Maintaining productive working relationships with DriveTime employees, external vendors, carriers, and service providers to support effective claim resolution
  • Documenting all incident and claim activity in the internal incident management database, including setting follow-up timelines based on priority and business needs
  • Exercising independent judgment in claim-related decisions and clearly supporting and defending those decisions
  • Coordinating claim resolution in alignment with internal guidelines, including pursuing recovery from at-fault parties through subrogation
  • Compiling and analyzing incident and claims data to support monthly reporting, tracking, accounting needs, and trend analysis
  • Providing insights and recommendations related to training, prevention, and future risk reduction initiatives
  • Assisting with training and mentorship of current and future CIS team members
