About The Position

The Corporate Accounting Specialist I will be responsible for various accounting functions including general ledger maintenance, inventory analysis and reconciliation, budgeting and variance analysis, and audit support. This role requires a strong understanding of GAAP, advanced Excel skills, and experience with ERP systems. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and organizational skills, with a keen attention to detail and a commitment to data confidentiality. Previous experience in the retail, supermarket, or grocery sector is a significant advantage.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required
3–5 years of professional accounting experience.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, formulas).
Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP)
Strong understanding and working knowledge of GAAP Accounting Principle
Strong research and analytical skills
Exceptional organizational skills, keen attention to detail, and a strict commitment to data confidentiality.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact with other team members, departments, stores, vendors, and corporate executives.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in the retail, supermarket, or grocery sector is a major plus.

Responsibilities

Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual closings, including the review of balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
Perform account reconciliations and analyses, ensuring all corporate transactions are accurately recorded in the general ledger.
Partner with store managers and distribution centers and observe physical inventory on a timely basis to monitor, track, and reconcile inventory levels, shrink, and cost of goods sold (COGS).
Collaborate with the Corporate Reporting Group and provide monthly variance reports comparing actual store performance to budgets and forecasts.
Coordinate internal and external financial audits and provide the necessary documentation and schedules to auditors.
