About The Position

The Corporate Accountant supports the VP of Accounting, Corporate Accounting Manager, and Corporate Controller in fulfilling the objectives of the Corporate Finance and Accounting Department. Key responsibilities include performing daily accounting functions, assisting with month-end close and reporting, and contributing to financial analysis. Additional duties may be found as needed to support departmental goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or closely related field is required.
  • 3-5 years of experience in accounting is required.
  • Must be highly skilled in dealing with financial and numeric data.
  • Knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting.
  • Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office productivity suite; Superior Excel skills required.
  • Must be highly motivated and have excellent work habits, including a willingness to work the hours necessary to get the job done, especially when important deadlines cause greater than normal departmental pressures.
  • Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and accountability.
  • Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manage key month-end close activities, including rebills, bank reconciliations, and intercompany reconciliations.
  • Review and resolve discrepancies on accounts receivable statements across multiple entities.
  • Analyze general ledger activity and prepare necessary journal entries and adjustments.
  • Prepare monthly corporate journal entries and allocate Human Resources costs as needed.
  • Coordinate the preparation and review of monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Prepare financial analysis and ad hoc reporting and present to the VP of Accounting, Corporate Accounting Manager, and Corporate Controller.
  • Perform monthly variance analysis, prepare quarterly forecasts, and develop annual budgets.
  • Manage a variety of accounting, financial, and administrative tasks, often with tight deadlines.
  • Abide by company HSEQ policies and procedures.
