About The Position

JVM Realty is looking for a Corporate Accountant to manage the accounting for its corporate entities. This role involves handling journal entries and the general ledger, executing monthly and annual closes, administering the corporate credit card and expense program, and generating financial reports for leadership. The position requires daily use of an ERP system and a commitment to maintaining audit-ready books.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 2+ years of corporate accounting experience
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to interpret contracts, vendor agreements, and regulatory material, and to perform calculations for budgets and statistical analysis.
  • Ability to independently manage a recurring deadline calendar and make sound decisions under uncertainty.
  • Self-motivated team player capable of working with minimal supervision.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree and/or CPA
  • Property management industry experience
  • Experience with Entrata or other Property Management Softwares
  • Familiarity with business intelligence and reporting tools (e.g., PowerBI)

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, and post journal entries for corporate entities, ensuring the chart of accounts and general ledger are audit-ready.
  • Manage the month-end and year-end close process according to the published calendar, including accruals, prepaid and fixed asset activity, intercompany allocations, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
  • Collaborate with department heads to understand and report on corporate operations, including variance analysis.
  • Calculate, post, and report monthly management fee revenue.
  • Maintain balance sheet reconciliations (bank, prepaid, accrual, fixed asset, intercompany) and resolve reconciling items promptly.
  • Administer the corporate credit card program, ensuring compliance and allocating costs across the portfolio.
  • Review and code corporate vendor invoices for approval.
  • Assist in the development of the PowerBI reporting suite.
  • Prepare the recurring corporate financial reporting package and explain budget variances.
  • Support the annual budget process, annual audit, and federal/state/local corporate tax filings.
  • Identify and implement process improvements, focusing on automation and reducing manual tasks.
  • Provide functional guidance to staff accountants on shared deliverables.
