About The Position

Corporate Accountants prepare, review, and reconcile financial information for various entities. They complete adjusting journal entries to the general ledger to ensure the financial statements accurately reflect operations for each business unit. Also, they assist with the preparation of consolidated financial statements, maintenance of the corporate general ledger, and preparation and/or analysis of special reports.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting, or related field
  • 3 years in accounting experience
  • Knowledge of advanced bookkeeping principles and practices
  • Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to follow complex verbal and written instructions
  • Excelled computer proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, as well as the ability to use email and internet
  • Must have a valid driver's license

Nice To Haves

  • 6 months in prior experience in multi-entity organizational structure

Responsibilities

  • Reviews financial statements to verify accuracy of transcriptions; prepares adjusting journal entries for each business unit to ensure financial statements accurately reflect operations
  • Assists management with addressing issues and/or questions related to the monthly financial operating results and provides analysis of actual vs. budget variances
  • Analyzes and reconciles the activities in balance sheet accounts such as cash, prepaid expenses, accrued receivables/payables and other assets/liabilities; prepares adjusting journal entries and schedules as needed
  • Prepares work papers for quarterly reviews and annual audits as assigned
  • Performs complex, multi-entity tasks that involve research and reconciliation of accounting data
  • Assists with the maintenance of the corporate general ledger and preparation of consolidated financial statements
  • Prepares accounting details and supporting documents for internal/external auditors
  • Assists with the preparation of annual operating budgets as needed
  • Prepares various weekly and monthly financial reports
  • Other duties as assigned
