About The Position

The Corporate Accountant for Kodiak Interiors Group will be responsible for the financial reporting function and balance sheet reconciliations for our corporate entities. This position will report to the Director of Accounting. This is a great opportunity for an experienced candidate to work for a growing company.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field plus 3-7 years of accounting experience
  • Knowledge and exposure to multi-company organizations preferred
  • Strong understanding of accounting theory/GAAP and ability to perform research as necessary
  • Must be detail oriented, technically minded and possess a process improvement mindset
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines and prioritize
  • Strong research and reconciliation skills required
  • Experience with and ability to learn new financial accounting systems
  • Self-motivated team player with strong problem solving skills, ability to work in an engaging and collaborative environment
  • Professional level communication and interpersonal skills with all levels of the organization

Responsibilities

  • Analyze, prepare, and record complex journal entries including allocation entries, accruals, prepaid amortizations, payroll, debt, stock compensation and intercompany entries.
  • Ensure the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close is completed accurately and within the monthly close cycle, including preparation of Balance Sheet reconciliations and P&L Statements.
  • Communicate effectively with various departments to ensure accurate accounting for health benefits, business insurance and expense allocations.
  • Perform the corporate A/P function ensuring all invoices are processed, approved and paid timely as well as ensuring proper coding of expenses.
  • Prepare all intercompany journal entries as part of the month end procedures.
  • Interpret accounting data and information, as well as research solutions to provide accurate and timely information.
  • Assist with audit requests and the preparation of audit schedules.
