About The Position

The Core Banking Systems Administrator is responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of core banking systems. This role provides subject matter expertise to business units and ensures optimal utilization of systems to meet operational and strategic needs. The administrator also produces system reports and leverages business intelligence tools to deliver actionable insights.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Data Science, or related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • 3–5 years in system administration, ideally within banking or financial services; familiarity with core banking platforms.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, SQL, and BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.).
  • Familiarity with core banking modules (accounts, deposits, loans, payments), database management, API integration, and cybersecurity protocols.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations including BSA, OFAC, AML, and data privacy laws.
  • Maintain professionalism and confidentiality while handling sensitive information.
  • Demonstrate initiative, critical thinking, and the ability to work independently.
  • Understand and apply core software programs in the organization’s environment.
  • Exhibit advanced problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Effectively communicate with internal stakeholders and third-party vendors.
  • Manage multiple priorities and projects with strong organizational skills.
  • Leverage advanced report writing and data visualization tools for operational efficiency.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred certifications include Power BI Data Analyst, SQL, ITIL, Excel, Oracle, or similar.
  • Experience with online banking platforms, CRM systems, document management tools, and BI platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and configure core banking systems and associated applications for reliability and performance.
  • Stay current with system updates and advocate for new functionalities to improve system utilization.
  • Understand evolving business needs and align core systems accordingly.
  • Analyze and resolve technical issues escalated from support teams.
  • Implement and monitor system security protocols and standards.
  • Provide end-user support and training for internal teams and service desk personnel.
  • Coordinate with software vendors to address bugs, enhancements, and support needs.
  • Maintain documentation for system configurations, customizations, procedures, and issue resolutions.
  • Manage integrations between core systems and third-party applications.
  • Ensure systems comply with internal policies and regulatory standards.
  • Design and generate reports to support business operations and executive decision-making.
  • Utilize BI tools to analyze system data and identify trends or opportunities.
  • Manage user roles and permissions; conduct regular access and compliance audits.
  • Oversee data governance efforts to maintain integrity and quality of core data.
  • Coordinate planning, testing, and execution of system updates and upgrades.
  • Support development and execution of data backup and disaster recovery plans.
  • Contribute to IT and enterprise projects involving the core systems.
  • Partner with IT, operations, and other departments for seamless system integration and usage.
