About The Position

Hudbay Minerals Inc. is seeking a qualified Core Logging Geologist to join their Lalor Mine Geology team in Snow Lake, MB. This is a term position until the end of December 2026, with a 14 days on/14 days off schedule. Camp accommodations are provided, and this is not a fly-in-fly-out position. The successful candidate will provide geological services, specifically core logging, to support the Lalor Mine's operations and the execution of the mining plan. The work environment is described as fast-paced and dynamic, built on trust, with leadership focused on individual mentoring and coaching.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Geological Sciences or Geological Engineering
• Geologist in Training (GIT) or Engineer in Training (EIT)
• Experienced with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
• Frequent lifting up to 34 kg to waist is required
• Possess a valid Class 5 Drivers License

Nice To Haves

• Familiar with MineSight, Deswik, Leapfrog or AcQuire is an asset but not required
• Previous core logging and underground experience is an asset but not required

Responsibilities

• Follow departmental safety program and maintain safety standards
• Geological logging and sampling of diamond drill core
• Liaising with Diamond drilling Contractor supervision
• Collect geological data for the purpose of ore interpretation and reserve and resource calculations
• Communicate changes in ore interpretation to geology department
• Carry out specific accountabilities as assigned by the Senior Mine Geologist
