About The Position

Arcadis is currently searching for an Entry-Level Geologist to join our Resilience Environment team in Sacramento, CA. This position is slated to start in Summer 2026. Candidates who are graduating in May 2026 are encouraged to apply.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s of Science in Geology, Engineering, or closely related field (i.e., environmental, biological, physical science)
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Self-motivated
  • Exhibit independent thinking
  • Able to work effectively and efficiently in a team setting as well as independently and remotely
  • Adaptable, creative problem solvers who can work collaboratively as a team member

Nice To Haves

  • Master of Science degree in Geology, Engineering or closely related field (i.e., environmental, biological, physical science)
  • Current OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training

Responsibilities

  • Assisting Project Managers (PMs) and Task Managers (TMs) in planning and executing environmental site characterization, investigation, and remediation tasks.
  • Overseeing drilling for soil sampling and groundwater well installation, groundwater sampling, subcontractor oversight, operation and maintenance of remediation systems, vapor intrusion/soil gas surveys.
  • Conducting fieldwork with a focus on health and safety.
  • Prepare subcontracts and oversee the work of subcontractors.
  • Writing and preparing technical reports, work plans, letters, and memoranda.
  • Task coordination, data compilation and interpretation, cost estimates, health & safety plan preparation, report writing, regulatory file reviews, proposal writing, project strategy development, schedule and budget management, and establishment of subcontracts.
  • Conducting field work including soil, groundwater, and/or vapor sampling in the field.
  • Supporting Pacific Northwest and National emergency response teams to ensure rapid protection of human health and the environment.
  • Supporting emergency response efforts which may require unanticipated travel and work outside standard business hours.
