The Core Logging Geologist identifies and characterizes geologic materials encountered in drill core, with a primary focus on the recovery and characterization of cored kaolin clays. The role learns and follows Reserves Analysis Lab policies and procedures for testing incoming drill core samples, and supports geologic interpretation and clay-quality grading to help inform mine and mill operations. The position requires consistent adherence to safety practices and established logging and laboratory procedures to produce reliable data. Field core-logging work takes place in varying climate conditions; most laboratory duties are performed in a climate-controlled environment. The work may involve hazardous chemicals and gases, noise, and dust, along with physical activity such as lifting, standing, walking, and climbing.
