About The Position

DaVita is seeking a Healthcare Copywriter to own website content and help patients, caregivers, and other audiences find and understand the information they need. The role writes and edits web content, improves accessibility and readability, maintains and audits pages, and contributes to a repeatable content creation process as the organization modernizes and optimizes its website. Over the next 12–18 months, success includes contributing to the launch of a content governance and creation process; documenting and aligning practices for SEO/GEO/AI visibility, accessibility, and readability; and improving content performance, including discoverability and engagement. The position works across content creation, customer journeys, accessibility and usability, content maintenance, process development, and collaboration with clinical, legal, UX/design, SEO, and analytics partners.

  • At least 3 years of copywriting or content strategy experience, ideally in healthcare, medical, wellness, or another regulated or technical industry.
  • A portfolio demonstrating the ability to turn complex information into clear, accessible content.
  • Familiarity with plain-language writing principles and web accessibility standards (WCAG).
  • Experience working with CMS platforms such as WordPress, Drupal, or similar.
  • Strong collaboration skills and comfort working with clinicians, compliance/legal reviewers, and designers.
  • Experience building or improving a content workflow or editorial process.
  • Excellent attention to detail, particularly regarding accuracy and consistency in a healthcare context.
  • Fluent written and verbal language skills necessary to perform the position’s essential functions, duties, and responsibilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Collaborate with clinical staff, subject matter experts, and legal/compliance reviewers to ensure content is accurate and understandable.
  • Adapt tone and reading level for patients, caregivers, providers, corporate audiences, and others.
  • Create outlines for new pages based on stakeholder RTBs to inform UX/UI design.
  • Integrate content holistically into the website through appropriate placements and linking.
  • Prioritize content and links for new customer journeys so visitors can navigate key information and next-best actions.
  • Create clear, compelling calls to action that guide visitors and improve engagement.

  • Incorporate user insights and trends to create and improve customer journeys.
  • Structure content to meet WCAG accessibility guidelines, including headings, alt text, link text, and readable formatting.
  • Apply plain-language and health literacy best practices.
  • Improve site navigation and information architecture from a content perspective so users can find information in as few steps as possible.
  • Partner with UX/design on how content is organized, labeled, and displayed.
  • Make simple copy updates in the CMS.
  • Conduct regular content audits to identify outdated, inaccurate, or underperforming pages according to the content governance calendar.
  • Monitor content performance, including search, engagement, and feedback, and revise content accordingly.
