About The Position

The Ultra Supply Chain function manages the processes associated with Indirect and Direct Procurement of goods and materials required to meet the operational demands of the business and the logistics of ensuring that materials are available for operations, and the completed products/services are delivered to the customer. Under the supervision of the Supervisor, Trade Compliance and Logistics, the selected candidate will be responsible for administering logistics operations activities, including export permits and trade compliance.

Requirements

  • College diploma or bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in logistics operations.
  • Strong understanding of shipping, receiving, inventory management, and warehousing practices.
  • Knowledge of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems and Lean philosophy.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Highly motivated with strong analytical abilities and initiative.
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Government of Canada security clearance (Reliability Status and, when required, Secret Level) and successfully complete a security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP).

Nice To Haves

  • CCLP (CITT-Certified Logistics Professional) designation is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate domestic and international shipments with transportation providers in the most efficient and cost-effective manner to ensure timely and proper delivery of goods.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key transportation providers.
  • Source, negotiate, and optimize freight costs with transportation providers.
  • Follow up with internal and external clients regarding shipment status.
  • Ensure the accuracy and proper documentation of data entered into ERP systems.
  • Track and maintain export control and controlled goods classifications.
  • Ensure organizational compliance with import and export regulations and applicable government requirements.
  • Prepare and complete all required documentation for domestic and international shipments.
  • Track and trace shipments with carriers.
  • Maintain accurate shipment records and files.
  • Foster professional relationships with government agencies such as the Canada Border Services Agency, Global Affairs Canada, and the Controlled Goods Program.
  • Monitor packaging specifications and development activities.
  • Develop and maintain a strong and up-to-date understanding of trade compliance programs, including the Controlled Goods Program, Canada Export Controls, EAR, and ITAR.
  • Coordinate and monitor the Customer Furnished Equipment (CFE) process.
  • Prepare and deliver training to personnel regarding applicable regulations.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects as a logistics subject matter expert, as required.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Perform any other related administrative duties as required.
