About The Position

You will be responsible for facility maintenance and operations, overseeing the work of maintenance staff, custodial services providers, and external vendors to ensure a safe, secure, and efficient workplace. You will be based in our Montreal office and will work in a 5-day office-based model. You will report to the Manager, Facilities Management I. This is a replacement posting.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in a related discipline.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in facilities, building operations, or premises management.
  • Outstanding time management, organizational and prioritization skills, and excellent attention to detail.
  • Valid driver's licence and access to a personal vehicle.
  • Ability to report to the site within 2 hours in the event of an emergency.
  • Working knowledge of building maintenance practices, including electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and occupational health and safety requirements.
  • Ability to occasionally lift or move items weighing up to 50 lbs, including office equipment, furniture, and cubicles.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills in French.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience with light construction tools is a great asset.
  • Bilingual English and French.
  • Training in the operation of Skyjack equipment.
  • Ability to work at heights.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance, daily facility inspections, and minor repairs across building systems, including seasonal maintenance such as snow and ice management.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and coordinate the resolution of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues, engaging external vendors and contractors as required.
  • Oversee and coordinate maintenance vendors and contractors performing work throughout the facility.
  • Support health and safety programs and initiatives by identifying risks and contributing to workplace safety improvements.
  • Assist the Facility Security Manager with emergency preparedness initiatives, including evacuation and emergency response plans, and participate on the CNESST Committee.
  • Maintain and support building security systems to ensure proper operation.
  • Respond to after-hours emergencies and alarm calls when on duty.
  • Support Logistics operations during periods requiring additional facility assistance.
  • Procure facility tools, equipment, and supplies in accordance with established purchasing processes and maintain equipment in safe working condition.
