Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, or any other equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Relevant construction experience.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft (Word, Excel), MS Project (basic), and AutoCAD (an asset for the latter).
  • Ability to communicate well in English (oral and written) (an asset).
  • ASP Construction card and Simdut 2015 (an asset).
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to work on both solid ground and barges.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and ensure the proper coordination of work under their responsibility, with foremen, surveyors, superintendents, engineers, project managers, and subcontractors.
  • Plan, supervise, and participate in the development of appropriate construction methods and processes related to contractual requirements, while respecting current health and safety requirements.
  • Collaborate on project estimation and submissions.
  • Participate in meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assist, review, and communicate technical issues and change requests to internal and external client representatives and carry out necessary follow-ups.
  • Participate in obtaining the permits and authorizations required for the execution of the work.
  • Assist the superintendent in various administrative and technical tasks.
  • Plan and verify material orders.
  • Follow up (validate content) on shop drawings and other required contractual documents as needed.
  • Coordinate the constructability design of temporary structures required for the advancement of the site with internal and external design engineers.
  • Participate in the creation and updating of project schedules.
  • Inspect and document the quality of temporary and/or permanent structures of the project.
  • Perform various follow-up tasks on the construction site.
