About The Position

The person in this position will direct and manage the treatment team in the areas of the program and policy development. The person in this position will be responsible for coordinating the provision of care and supervision of clients. Will assign treatment staff at intake, will review, modify, and/or approve the treatment plan for each client, and will supervise the managerial duties, tasks may include recommendations concerning ordering and purchasing supplies, meal preparation, facility maintenance, intake screening, supervision of clients on field trips and during daily activities, and clerical/record keeping duties. Essential Job Functions include those listed below. Other duties may be as assigned as needed.

Requirements

  • Hold a current certification as a counselor for alcohol, drug, family or related services from the National Association of Alcohol & Drug Abuse Counselors, the National Board of Certified Counselors or similar organization
  • Possess or able to obtain Arizona Level 1 Fingerprint clearance card
  • Able to past First Level background check
  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent in social service field or comparable of qualifying experience or Associates Degree with 2+ years of experience or High School Diploma or equivalent with 6+ years of experience, 4 of which must be in a residential setting
  • Attend regular professional education classes/workshops to continuously upgrade job skills or promote the image of the agency
  • 5+ years experience in social/behavioral sciences
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Outstanding critical thinking and creative problem solving skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • High level of initiative
  • Ability to manage, direct and lead a treatment team
  • Professional demeanor

Responsibilities

  • Interview, hire and terminate employees with advice and consent from the Immediate supervisor, Regional Vice-President, Director of Human Resources and other staff as appropriate
  • Responsible for training and supervision of all treatment team staff
  • Develop staff work schedule and assign daily responsibilities to ensure proper coverage for all shifts
  • Ensure that all shift duties are completed in a timely manner and in accordance with WestCare procedures
  • Review each employees job performance on a yearly basis (or more often if necessary). Make recommendations to the immediate supervisor regarding employee advancement and retention
  • Provide clinical supervision of assigned treatment team staff verifying compliance with WestCare treatment procedures on a regular basis
  • Provide quality improvement reviews on all client documentation performed by assigned treatment team staff on a monthly basis, initiating corrective action as needed
  • Assist and make recommendations to immediate supervisor regarding program design, development, and of implementation and treatment and transitional program
  • Responsible for all aspects of treatment for all clients in the program
  • Oversee intake and evaluation of clients needing services
  • Review, modify and/or approve all treatment plans for clients
  • Supervise coordination of services with outside agencies
  • Coordinate client treatment with the other WestCare programs and staff
  • Responsible for transportation of clients to required appointments if necessary
  • Supervise clients. This includes, but is not limited to, scheduling and assigning client chores, offering task instruction and assistance as required, maintaining visual contact as necessary by at least one adult with all residents in such a manner as to monitor activities and whereabouts at all times
  • Monitor clients behavior
  • Report any unusual behavior or behaviors that could indicate other problems
  • Provide crisis intervention in accordance with WestCare procedures
  • Monitor clients whereabouts to ensure they remain on the property
  • Notify law enforcement and client guardian when clients leave the property without supervisor
  • Provide regular management reports regarding programs and clients to the immediate supervisor
  • Coordinate routine physical examinations, health assessments and train staff in emergency medical techniques
  • Meet with staff and treatment team once a week
  • Report to the Immediate supervisor at a minimum of once weekly
  • Respond to, and give direction in all emergency situations that would necessitate the Coordinators intervention
  • Responsible for facility compliance with health, fire, and other regulatory standards.
  • Review all reports, forms and admission packets generated by the department to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Order and purchase necessary supplies
  • Ensure that all required policies and procedures of WestCare are carried out
  • Act as WestCare representative/liaison with other agencies
  • Embrace and embody the mission, vision, guiding principles, clinical vision and goals of Westcare Foundation
  • Other relevant duties as assigned
