About The Position

The main purpose of this position is to provide supervisory oversight for the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of the Carroll County Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Program in accordance with USDA and State of Maryland regulations. This position will plan, develop, implement and evaluate WIC program activities to ensure access to care, utilization of needed services for targeted populations and compliance with local, federal and state regulations, policies and procedures. This position will provide direct supervision to assigned staff to ensure the quality and productivity of service delivery, including oversight of orientation and training through meetings, direct observation, audits, performance evaluations and, when necessary, the disciplinary process. This position will also lead program budget planning, preparation, implementation and monitoring activities, including the completion of required reports, collection, review and analysis of data and site reviews in accordance with State conditions of award and local health department guidance.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
  • Three years of professional experience in assisting in the coordination of a health-related program(s) or referring people to governmental and private resources.
  • Candidates may substitute 30 college credit hours from an accredited college or university on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
  • Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Health Care Administration classifications or Civil Affairs Specialist specialty codes in the health-related field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience and education.
