About The Position

The main purpose of this full-time position will be to assist with strategies for youth substance use prevention, opioid misuse prevention and alcohol compliance/highway safety through a variety of interventions and strategies. These include, but are not limited to: collaborating with public schools to facilitate an after-school program using evidence-based substance use prevention programs in two elementary schools; delivering Narcan training, facilitating responsible beverage seller and service programs, conducting academic detailing sessions, facilitating parent/family education programs, collaborating with local law enforcement to conduct alcohol compliance checks; and assisting with youth ambassador training and the Worcester County Youth Council. This position will also provide community outreach and education designed to promote healthy lifestyle practices across the lifespan. The selected applicant must be willing and able to travel to all Worcester County sites and will be required to work occasional evening and/or weekend hours.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
  • One year of professional experience in assisting in the coordination of a health-related program(s) or referring people to governmental and private resources.
  • Candidates may substitute 30 college credit hours from an accredited college or university for the required experience.
  • Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Health Care Administration classifications or Civil Affairs Specialist specialty codes in the health-related field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience and education.
