About The Position

This position provides strong and reliable assistance to the Coordinator of the Office of Community Building and Engagement (COCBE). The role ensures continuous support and sustainability for the COCBE's office, which also includes an executive assistant shared with the Office of Mission and Identity, especially during the COCBE's absence from the office, whether on campus or off-site.

Requirements

  • Associates degree in a related field from an accredited institution.
  • 1-3 years of relevant working experience.
  • Considerable knowledge of modern office practices and procedures, above average clerical expertise and duties (Microsoft Office Suites).
  • Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work across various schools and departments at Duquesne University.
  • Ability to assist with COCBE presentations.
  • Work with HR for ERGs.
  • Work with HR for Community Building Certificate Program.
  • Organizing Bias Education Awareness Team report with BEAT Chair and Co-Chair.
  • Ability to work across various departments.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the University Community.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Assists with the design and implementation of cultural programming related to Community Building and Engagement.
  • Assisting in the implementation of programming and trainings, along with presentation.
  • Assists with events, special projects (logistical and programmatic).
  • Assist with organizing and obtaining information to provide for various reports (outside and university wide).
  • Assists with the development, implementation, and maintenance of the Bias Education Awareness Team (BEAT) data for institutional reports.
  • Participates in college and university committee activities in the absence of the COCBE.
  • Handles and manages confidential and sensitive matters coming from the COCBE Office, along with Cabinet level information.
  • Assists with events, special projects (logistical and programmatic).
  • Completes other duties as assigned.
