About The Position

The Office of the Registrar at James Madison University is seeking a highly motivated individual to join the Transfer Credit team as a Coordinator of Special Population Transitions. This role involves coordinating the receipt and review of transcripts for various special populations, including student athletes, adult degree candidates, military students, RN to BSN students, and international students. The position requires reviewing course descriptions, consulting with academic departments to assign credit, and counseling prospective students and advisors on transfer policies. Additionally, the role involves posting credit to student records, coordinating transfer credit requests for continuing students, and assisting in updating the Transfer Credit Equivalency Guide. A key responsibility also includes supporting the Veterans Benefits Team by analyzing prior learning credits and managing student enrollment reporting within the VA's Enrollment Manager system.

Requirements

Knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications
Ability to handle and prioritize a large volume of work.

Responsibilities

Coordinate receipt/review of transcripts for admitted special populations such as Student Athletes, Adult Degree, Military, RN to BSN and international students.
Review course descriptions and consult with academic departments to assign credit to a JMU equivalent course.
Counsel prospective students and advisors on transfer policies.
Post credit to matriculated students’ official record using the student administration system.
Coordinate transfer credit requests for continuing special population students.
Assist in updating the Transfer Credit Equivalency Guide using the Transfer Evaluation System.
Support the Veterans Benefits Team by analyzing prior learning credits and executing student enrollment reporting within VA's Enrollment Manager system.
