About The Position

The Coordinator of Operations and Facilities is responsible for implementing, managing, and maintaining an efficient program to coordinate the daily operational needs of programs, personnel, and facilities. The goal is to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for students and staff, while also providing support for asset management and capital improvement planning.

Requirements

  • Community college and/or vocational school degree with study in a job-related area, or five or more years of progressively responsible related experience in facilities/operations.
  • Understanding of PA state regulatory building codes for schools.
  • Job-related experience is required.
  • Support personnel in the facilities department.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with the DCIU Supervisor of Facilities, center supervisors, and program personnel to develop, monitor, and implement a maintenance schedule for all systems, facilities, and vehicles.
  • Communicates with administrators, DCIU personnel, and outside organizations to convey and/or gather information.
  • Coordinates a variety of assigned projects and activities such as school bus safety inspections, food service inspections, and building inspections.
  • Establishes long and short-range plans for assigned administrative responsibilities in coordination with the Supervisor of Facilities.
  • Assists in implementing comprehensive programs for grounds care, pest control, and Safe Schools.
  • Assists with closing, moving, and evaluating new facilities and learning spaces, including the development of a comprehensive security and safety program.
  • Maintains inventory of supplies such as fuel, oil, first aid, and cleaning supplies in collaboration with Head Custodians.
  • Assists with personnel administrative functions including hiring, training, supervising, evaluating, and providing professional development opportunities.
  • Responds to inquiries from internal and external parties to provide information and facilitate communication.
  • Utilizes data from various sources to project present and future operational needs.
  • Attends project meetings to maintain open communication, monitor processes, and analyze data.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned to ensure efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
