About The Position

Viterbo University invites applications for the position of Coordinator of Campus Ministry, a dynamic and relational role within the University. This position serves as a key member of the Campus Ministry team, supporting the spiritual, personal, and leadership development of students. The Coordinator of Campus Ministry plays a vital role in cultivating a vibrant campus faith community grounded in Catholic Franciscan values. Through the coordination of retreats, service immersion experiences, hospitality initiatives, and faith formation opportunities, this position engages students in meaningful experiences that foster belonging, discipleship, and service to others. The ideal candidate is a highly collaborative and student-centered professional who is committed to building relationships, creating welcoming spaces, and accompanying students in their faith journeys. They will contribute to the development of student leaders and support initiatives that promote a culture of hospitality, inclusion, and mission-centered engagement across campus. This is a full-time, permanent 12-month position, including flexible evening and weekend hours in support of student programming and events.

  • 1-2 years of related experience in ministry or leadership
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates and implements Campus Ministry programs across four key areas: retreats, service immersion, hospitality, and faith formation/leadership development, in alignment with the University mission.
  • Takes initiative in the execution and continuous improvement of Campus Ministry programs and student engagement efforts.
  • Builds relationships with students through active presence, outreach, and intentional invitation, fostering a welcoming, inclusive, and hospitable environment rooted in Catholic Franciscan values.
  • Assists in the planning and facilitation of retreats, including the Magnify Retreat, managing logistics, registration, communication, and student leadership development.
  • Coordinates local service opportunities and assists with domestic and international immersion experiences, including preparation and post-experience reflection.
  • Coordinates and executes weekly hospitality events, including Table of Plenty, Morning MUG, and food pantry initiatives, recruiting and supporting student volunteers to ensure a consistent and welcoming student experience.
  • Supports the development and implementation of faith formation and discipleship opportunities, including small groups, Bible studies, peer ministry, and student leadership accompaniment.
  • Coordinates and supports the promotion and marketing of Campus Ministry activities through social media, website updates, newsletters, and other communication platforms.
  • Maintains a visible and welcoming presence at liturgies, Campus Ministry events, and major university celebrations and assists through hospitality, recruitment, and support in collaboration the Campus Ministry Team.
  • Assists with scheduling, communication, record-keeping, and administrative functions, including budget-related processes such as purchasing and expense tracking.
  • Helps maintain Campus Ministry spaces to ensure they are welcoming, organized, and reflective of the mission.
  • Works collaboratively with Campus Ministry team members, campus departments, student organizations, and external partners to advance Campus Ministry initiatives and the mission of the University.
  • Assists with the recruitment, training, and formation of student leaders, student employees, peer ministers, and volunteers engaged in Campus Ministry programs.
  • Participates in Campus Ministry team meetings, planning sessions, and divisional initiatives, supporting the vision set by the Executive Director and University Chaplain.
  • Schedule weekly meetings with the Executive Director of Campus Ministry/University Chaplain.
  • Other duties, as assigned.
