About The Position

This position manages activities for a project or program within the School of Medicine, Associate Dean - Student Affairs. The role provides administrative support for various programs, including the JSSOM MD Learning Communities and the Faculty Advisory Program. It also plays a key role in coordinating commencement activities and managing office finances. The coordinator will plan, direct, and coordinate program activities, ensuring goals are met within deadlines and budget. This includes determining program methods, staffing, budget, and resources, as well as assessing program status and delegating tasks to support staff.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree or equivalent
  • Three years of related experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provides administrative support to the JSSOM MD Learning Communities, including managing communication, scheduling, and coordination of supplies, as well as serving as the liaison for campus communications and other administrative tasks on behalf of the learning communities.
  • Supports the administrative needs of the Faculty Advisory Program, including coordinating meetings, preparing meeting minutes, and managing the scheduling and communication between faculty and student advisors.
  • Plays a key role in coordinating and planning the JSSOM MD Commencement, working closely with personnel from the Office of Student Affairs and Admissions to ensure seamless execution of all commencement activities.
  • Process office travel, reimbursements, and financial expenditures in collaboration with SOM Administrators and Academic Enterprise Service Center (AESC)
  • Plans, directs, and coordinates activities of a program directly related to management or general business operation.
  • Ensure the goals and objectives specified are accomplished in accordance with prescribed priorities, deadlines, and funding conditions.
  • Determines methods and procedures for the program, staffing requirements, budget, and resources.
  • Assess program status and implement appropriate actions.
  • Delegates activities of support staff.
  • Provides technical advice to assist in solving problems.
  • Serves as a resource and subject matter expert.
  • Adheres to internal controls and reporting structure.
  • Performs related duties as required.
