About The Position

The Coordinator I - Fire Equipment Service is a full-time position responsible for managing incoming and outgoing calls for Fire Equipment, scheduling daily routes for technicians, and dispatching service calls. This role involves identifying customer needs, building customer relationships, providing accurate information, handling complaints, and assisting the department with additional tasks. There is also an option to participate in an on-call program for additional hours after training.

Requirements

  • Strong phone contact handling skills and active listening
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills required to work with customers, technicians, sales personnel, and managers
  • Must be able to multi-task & have multiple priorities
  • Computer Literate – Typing 40 wpm minimum. Accuracy is essential.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, and Excel primarily)
  • Google Maps, ability to pull directions
  • Scheduling history
  • Strong Customer Service skills
  • Consistent and dependable attendance
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Positive Attitude
  • Knowledge of Chicagoland area

Responsibilities

  • Manage incoming / outgoing calls for Fire Equipment
  • Scheduling of daily routes for assigned technicians and dispatch service calls
  • Identify and assess customers’ needs to achieve satisfactory solutions
  • Build sustainable relationships and trust with customer accounts through open and interactive communication
  • Provide accurate, valid, and complete information by using the right methods / tools
  • Handle customer complaints, provide appropriate solutions, and alternatives
  • Follow communication procedures, guidelines, and policies
  • Additional tasks as needed to assist the department
  • On-Call rotation option - once fully trained, can participate in on-call program for additional hours
