About The Position

Under some supervision, performs work activities and projects requiring technical knowledge in a safe, effective, efficient and economic accomplishment of assigned objectives. The Coordinator role involves coordinating work activities of others within a work group, team, or externally (including contractors and vendors) to resolve routine technical tasks and field work activities. This role performs varied assignments demonstrating technical knowledge and analytical techniques to solve problems or analysis, participates in the planning and organization of outage/project work activities, makes decisions and contributes to team decision making and consensus building, monitors labor relation activities, develops and maintains rapport to assure cooperation and productive working relationships with contractors, works with others in both supplying information and seeking assistance as necessary, and provides training and guidance to lower-level employees as appropriate. The Coordinator Senior role also coordinates work activities of others, monitors Work and Asset Management to ensure work is performed in accordance with established policies, procedures, and guidelines, demonstrates the ability to work beyond routine assignments by solving moderately complex problems, works independently in resolving complex problems, participates in providing training and performance improvements for projects and activities of lower-level employees or peers, develops and maintains rapport to assure cooperation and productive working relationships with customers, effectively manages conflict and builds consensus for agreement concerning business and/or work issues, clearly and concisely develops and presents or reviews reports with customers as needed, initiates, leads and facilitates meetings effectively, provides input to routine project planning and schedule, understands the use of scheduling techniques for budget and planning activities, assists in the planning of outages/projects/assignments, participates in AEP and associated contractor's meetings covering outage/project schedule, safety issues and operations and maintenance of equipment, assists in evaluating contracting methods, reviewing drawings and preparing basic cost estimates using established standards, and monitors work according to schedule and recommends necessary actions. Both roles pursue effective ways to protect and enhance the environment while providing reliable electricity at a competitive cost.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited university or college; OR Associate's technical degree and 3 years of experience in design, operations, planning, construction, or maintenance of systems and/or equipment; OR High school diploma or GED and 5 years of experience in design, operations, planning, construction, or maintenance of systems and/or equipment.
  • Typically requires a minimum of 3 years of experience in work activities and projects requiring technical knowledge.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited university or college; OR Associate's technical degree and 6 years of experience in design, operations, planning, construction, or maintenance of systems and/or equipment; OR High school diploma or GED and 8 years of experience in design, operations, planning, construction, or maintenance of systems and/or equipment.
  • Typically requires a minimum of 6 years of experience in work activities and projects requiring technical knowledge.

  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills backed by an enthusiastic approach and a diligent client focus.
  • Ability to interface and work well with different levels of individual contributors and management is required.
  • Must be available to work overtime, call-out overtime and shift work, as required.

  • Position requires working outside in all types of weather and exposure to hazardous materials.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in business unit operations and business acumen strongly preferred.
  • Understanding of business unit financial and operations systems and databases preferred.
