About The Position

This position is responsible for a variety of administrative tasks within the Buchtel College of Arts & Sciences Dean's Office. Key functions include calendar management, meeting coordination, event planning, travel arrangements, document preparation, personnel file maintenance, serving as a liaison between the Dean's Office and other departments, and conducting College Elections. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, a minimum of four years of progressive work experience as a senior administrative assistant or administrative assistant, broad knowledge of university operations and policies, discretion, organization, advanced computer skills, strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills, research skills, adaptability to new technology, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Supervisory skills are preferred.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Maintain calendars, organize meetings, prepare agendas, coordinate special events and make travel arrangements.
  • Inform the Dean of important deadlines and issues.
  • Review and compile materials to be submitted to the OAA and the Board and prepare correspondence.
  • Update and maintain confidential personnel files.
  • Serve as liaison between the Dean’s Office and other departments.
  • Conduct College Elections every Spring and run-off elections in fall as required.
  • Supervise Dean’s Office staff.
