Requirements

  • Have earned your high school diploma (or will graduate prior to program start).
  • Plan to enroll, or are currently enrolled, in an approved Diesel Technology, Construction Equipment, Agricultural Equipment, or related technical program.
  • Have strong mechanical aptitude demonstrated through school, hobbies, work experience, or personal projects.
  • Enjoy solving mechanical problems and working with your hands.
  • Work well independently and as part of a team.
  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Have a strong attendance record and positive attitude.
  • Are committed to maintaining a safe, clean work environment.
  • Have basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Intend to pursue a long-term career with Aksela after graduation.
  • Maintain at least a 2.0 cumulative GPA.
  • Successfully complete both classroom and workplace learning requirements.
  • Demonstrate Aksela's core values in school, at work, and in the community.
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures while maintaining a safe and professional work environment.
  • Make satisfactory progress toward graduation while actively participating in internship opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Work alongside experienced technicians inspecting, diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing foundation drilling and construction equipment.
  • Assist with troubleshooting hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, and engine systems.
  • Learn industry-leading diagnostic and repair techniques using advanced tools and technology.
  • Participate in technical training and professional development opportunities.
  • Develop safe work habits while following company policies and procedures.
  • Represent Aksela professionally at work, school, and within your community.
  • Build the technical skills needed for a successful career as an equipment technician.
