Requirements

Have earned your high school diploma (or will graduate prior to program start).
Plan to enroll, or are currently enrolled, in an NMC-approved Diesel Technology program.
Have strong mechanical aptitude demonstrated through school, hobbies, work experience, or personal projects.
Enjoy solving problems and working with your hands.
Work well independently and as part of a team.
Communicate effectively and demonstrate professionalism.
Have basic computer skills.
Have a strong attendance record and positive attitude.
Intend to pursue a long-term career with NMC Cat after graduation.
Maintain at least a 2.0 cumulative GPA.
Make satisfactory progress toward graduation within 24 months.
Successfully complete both classroom and workplace learning requirements.
Demonstrate NMC Cat's core values in school, at work, and in the community.

Responsibilities

Work alongside experienced technicians diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing heavy equipment.
Assist with inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs in both shop and field environments.
Learn Caterpillar systems, diagnostics, and industry-leading repair techniques.
Participate in technical training and professional development opportunities.
Develop safe work habits while following company policies and procedures.
Represent NMC Cat professionally at work, school, and within your community.
Build the skills and experience needed to become a successful Caterpillar Service Technician.
