About The Position

The Cooking Tech 1 position performs the cooking of various meat products under the supervision and direction of the Pit Supervisor.

Requirements

  • Must be able to stand between 2 – 3 hours at a time
  • Must be willing to follow all GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices) of the company which include but are not limited to: use of a hair net, use of gloves, use of a company approved frock and rubber boots, no jewelry, no nail polish or artificial nails, no shorts, no open-toed shoes, no ripped clothing or rhinestones/glitter on clothing, no chewing gum, candy or tobacco.

Responsibilities

  • Performs the loading of raw meat product onto racks located inside the pits
  • Performs the unloading of cooked meat product out of the pits and onto racks
  • Identifies products and distinguishes between species
  • Performs the cleaning/washing down of a pit
  • Assembles and disassembles the racks inside the pits
  • Performs daily inspection of the bushings, pins and washers on the racks
  • Transports racks full of meat from pits to the scale, and then to the chill cell
