About The Position

Nazareth Home is hiring a full-time Cook for its Clifton campus at 2120 Payne Street in Louisville, Kentucky. Nazareth Home is an award-winning, nonprofit long-term care and recovery community that provides person-centered health and wellness services for aging adults. The Cook prepares and serves meals for residents and staff according to established menus, spreadsheets, recipes, and dietary requirements. The role ensures food is prepared safely and efficiently, maintains required temperature controls and sanitation standards, performs quality checks, prepares ingredients and food for the following day, and helps keep the kitchen clean and organized. The position is in person and pays $19 per hour. Two openings are available, with hours from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Two to three years of cooking experience in a long-term health care setting.
Food Handlers Certificate.

Nice To Haves

Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) certification.
Ability to reliably commute to Louisville, Kentucky, or planning to relocate before starting work.

Responsibilities

Prepare and cook food according to approved menus, recipes, and dietary requirements.
Complete food preparation and ingredient setup for the following day's meals.
Monitor, record, and maintain required food temperatures in compliance with food safety regulations.
Conduct quality assurance checks, including taste-testing food for quality and consistency.
Manage time effectively to ensure meals are prepared and served on schedule.
Serve meals to residents and staff professionally and courteously.
Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and kitchen surfaces according to health and safety standards.
Follow food safety, sanitation, and infection control procedures.
Help maintain an organized and efficient kitchen operation.
