About The Position

Join Healthcare Services Group (HCSG) as a Cook preparing and cooking nutritious meals for residents in a long-term care facility. The role supports HCSG’s commitment to positively impacting the communities it serves and enhancing customer and resident experiences. Cooks prepare food according to planned menus and recipes, maintain food quality and presentation, follow safety and sanitation guidelines, assist with supplies, and provide customer service to residents, staff, and guests. The role may also require completing an approved sanitation and safety course. Current ServSafe or Food Handler certification is required where mandated by state or county law. Residency within the service area is required.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to follow recipes and dietary restrictions.
Maintain a positive attitude and communicate effectively with building occupants, administration, and HCSG leadership to perform daily tasks.
Comply with COVID-19 vaccination policies.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and push and pull up to 50 pounds.
Ability to stand, sit, bend, and walk for extended periods and perform routine, repetitive tasks continuously.
Ability to work around food and cleaning products.
Current ServSafe or Food Handler certification when required by state or county law.
Residency within the service area.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience as a cook or in food preparation is preferred.

Responsibilities

Prepare and cook meals according to planned menus and recipes.
Ensure food quality, taste, and presentation meet HCSG standards.
Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines and maintain a clean, orderly kitchen.
Assist with inventory management and ordering supplies.
Interact positively with residents, staff, and guests, providing excellent customer service.
Perform other duties as assigned.
