About The Position

The Part Time Evening Cook prepares and serves quality meals in a collaborative long-term care environment, supporting the needs of patients and customers. The role includes handling food and supplies, preparing meals according to menus, recipes, production sheets, and special diet orders, and ensuring meals are accurate, appealing, and served on schedule. The position is at NHC Murfreesboro in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.

Responsibilities

Assist with receiving and storing food and supplies to prevent waste and ensure product quality.
Date, label, and store items properly.
Use proper food-handling techniques.
Review menus, therapeutic menus, recipes, and production sheets before preparing meals.
Prepare and serve diets accurately and attractively, following planned portions and special diet requirements.
Follow standardized recipes and special diet orders, preparing sufficient quantities for service requirements.
Test and taste foods of all consistencies for appearance, flavor, aroma, and temperature, and adjust as needed.
Time preparation of meals and snacks so they are served on schedule.
Check trays for diet accuracy, preferences, and quality before delivery.
Serve on the tray line and deliver carts to floors as needed.
