About The Position

The Cook is responsible for preparing and serving meals, meeting residents’ special dietary needs, sanitizing food service areas, maintaining accurate records, receiving and rotating products, managing inventory, and complying with applicable regulations and community policies. The position is part time, with a 12:00 p.m.–8:00 p.m. shift, at Brandywine Assisted Living in Livingston, New Jersey. Compensation is $21.00–$22.00 per hour, with final compensation based on experience and qualifications.

Requirements

Maintain a current ServSafe certification or be able to obtain one.
Have one year of job-related experience, including food preparation, full-line menu items, and special diets.
Have a high school diploma or GED.
Demonstrate organizational and time-management skills, good judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making.
Be able to work at least one weekend day per week.

Responsibilities

Prepare and serve quality meals.
Meet special dietary needs and prepare texture-modified food as directed.
Comply with record-keeping, food safety, and risk-management requirements.
Monitor food preparation, storage, and handling to follow HACCP, labeling, and storage protocols and comply with food service regulations and policies.
Maintain accurate hot and cold food, refrigerator, and freezer temperature logs.
Attend in-service training as scheduled.
Comply with federal, state, and local regulations and community policies and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
