About The Position

The Cook prepares and serves quality meals for patients in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and Life Care standards. The role prepares meals that are appetizing in taste and appearance and appropriate for each patient, including consideration of ordered diets and food consistency. The Cook ensures food and supplies are available for upcoming meals, serves meals and snacks promptly, uses provided production tools and recipes, and provides excellent customer service while working productively with an interdisciplinary team.

Requirements

High school graduate or equivalent.
Experience preparing and cooking food in large quantities.
Knowledge of practices, procedures, laws, regulations, and guidelines governing functions in a post-acute care facility.
Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
Ability to perform the job's competency areas, including patient rights, safety, and sanitation.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional working relationships.
Ability to concentrate and use reasoning skills and good judgment.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.

One year of food preparation experience.
