About The Position

PARC Retirement Living is seeking a Cook for Cristalina PARC, an independent senior-living community in Kelowna. PARC communities are inspiring spaces where residents live comfortably and engage with a vibrant community. Cristalina PARC, located in Pandosy Village near Lake Okanagan, is a modern, sustainably designed nine-storey building with 133 suites, offering residents fine dining, lounges, fitness activities, arts, culture, and gardening. The dining experience is fast-paced and service-oriented, comparable to a high-end restaurant, with cuisine that rivals the best. As a Cook, you will be a member of the Food and Beverage team, responsible for creating an incredible dining experience for residents and guests, preparing and serving meals in a restaurant and bistro setting with proper food-handling procedures, maintaining a clean kitchen and workspace, assisting with food deliveries, and preparing and serving residents at proper temperatures and in appropriate portions.

Requirements

  • A culinary diploma or equivalent experience and skills.
  • Food Safe Level 1 certification.
  • WHMIS certification.
  • A true flair for creative food preparation.
  • Knowledge and experience in portion control, menus and the use of commercial kitchen equipment.
  • Understanding and respect for the needs of seniors, their families, and other professional services engaged with our residents.
  • Criminal Record Check.
  • TB test within the first month of employment.

Responsibilities
