About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Cook to join our team at Spring Haven LLC in Winter Haven, FL. The ideal candidate will have a passion for serving seniors and a strong background in high-volume food production. This role involves preparing nutritious and appealing meals for our residents, ensuring adherence to dietary needs and safety standards.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2–3 years of cooking experience in bulk or high-volume food production (senior living, healthcare, hospital, school, or institutional setting strongly preferred).
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare meals for large populations (250+ meals per service).
  • Knowledge of proper food handling, storage, and sanitation practices.
  • Ability to follow recipes, menus, and production schedules accurately.
  • Strong communication skills with residents, coworkers, and leadership.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment with exposure to heat, steam, and noise.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in senior living, assisted living, or long-term care environments.
  • Knowledge of modified diets (diabetic, low sodium, puree, mechanical soft, etc.).
  • Food safety certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Ability to lead or assist others during busy meal periods.
