About The Position

The Cook prepares and serves quality meals for patients in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and Life Care standards. The role prepares meals and snacks that are appetizing in taste and appearance and appropriate to patients’ ordered diets and food consistencies. The Cook ensures ingredients and supplies are available for upcoming meals, serves food promptly, and uses provided production tools and recipes. The position also requires customer service, dependable attendance, teamwork, confidentiality, and compliance with company policies and standards.

Requirements

High school graduate or equivalent.
Experience preparing and cooking food in large quantities.
Read, write, speak, and understand English.
Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
Knowledge of practices, procedures, laws, regulations, and guidelines governing functions in a post-acute care facility.
Ability to perform duties involving sitting, standing, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, stooping, walking, reaching, and intermittent movement during working hours.

Nice To Haves

One year of experience in food preparation is preferred.

Assist in evacuating patients.
Maintain dependable, regular attendance.
Communicate and work productively on an interdisciplinary team.
Follow applicable laws, regulations, facility guidelines, department policies and procedures, and company compliance requirements.
Maintain confidentiality and professional working relationships with associates, vendors, and others.
