About The Position

The Cook is responsible for preparing and serving meals, meeting residents’ special dietary needs, maintaining food-service sanitation, keeping accurate records, receiving and rotating products, managing inventory, and complying with applicable regulations. The role is part-time, with a 12:00 PM–8:00 PM shift at Brandywine Assisted Living in Livingston, New Jersey. The listed pay is $21.00–$22.00 per hour, with final compensation based on experience and qualifications.

Requirements

Maintain a current ServSafe certification or be able to obtain one.
Have one year of job-related experience, including food preparation, full-line menu items, and special diets.
High school diploma or GED accepted.
Demonstrate organizational and time-management skills, good judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making.
Be able to work at least one weekend day per week.

Responsibilities

Prepare and serve quality meals.
Meet special dietary needs and prepare texture-modified food as directed.
Comply with record-keeping, food-safety, and risk-management requirements.
Monitor food preparation, storage, and handling to follow HACCP, labeling, and storage protocols and food-service regulations and policies.
Maintain accurate hot and cold food, refrigerator, and freezer temperature logs.
Participate in and attend scheduled in-service training.
Follow all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as community policies and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
