About The Position

As a Cook, you will prepare and serve high-quality meals that support residents’ health and well-being. You will follow established food safety and sanitation standards while helping create a positive dining experience for residents and families. The role includes preparing scratch-made meals from recipes according to planned menus and dietary guidelines, supporting inventory and supply ordering, maintaining food and kitchen supplies, and assisting with meal service and kitchen cleanliness. When the Food Service Manager is unavailable, you will supervise and support Dietary staff.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED/HSE preferred.
• Minimum of 1–2 years of similar cooking experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare fresh, scratch-made meals from recipes for residents according to planned menus and dietary guidelines.
• Assist the Food Service Manager with inventory control and ordering supplies.
• Store food and kitchen supplies properly to maintain freshness and prevent waste.
• Supervise and support Dietary staff when the Food Service Manager is unavailable.
• Set up breakfast bars, steam tables, and other meal service stations.
• Maintain clean work areas and complete kitchen cleaning tasks.
• Prepare and stock snacks and standard pantry items for resident areas.
• Use technology and computerized systems to help provide an efficient and safe dining experience for residents and families.
