About The Position

Cooks provide daily culinary experiences for residents and guests. This full-service, hands-on role supports the daily operation of the kitchen and dining room, preparing food for residents and staff. Management and team members provide on-the-job training in the skills needed to meet residents’ preferences while serving balanced, nutritious meals. The position is full-time, typically scheduled from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., with other availability as needed. The employer welcomes candidates from a range of industries, including people with customer-service experience and displaced restaurant workers, and offers flexible schedules.

Requirements

Basic culinary skills and willingness to cook from scratch and execute a variety of menu items.
Interpersonal relationship skills, passion, and empathy.
Compassion for serving others.
Must be at least 18 years old.
Must pass a background check and TB test.
Must obtain and maintain Serve Safe Certification.
No educational requirements.

Nice To Haves

1–3 years of experience in dietary or food services.
Experience working in banquet or catering operations.

Responsibilities

Provide residents with restaurant-quality meals and beverages.
Help produce a varied, creative, nutritious menu that considers residents’ requests, including daily specials and special orders.
Follow posted work schedules and cleaning assignments for the front and back of house.
Maintain proper food-handling and preparation hygiene and meet sanitation requirements for the food-service area and personnel in accordance with state Health Department regulations.
Set up food and supplies for special events in various areas throughout the community, coordinating with the Executive Director and Lifestyle Director.
Wear the proper uniform each day.
Know and follow the employee handbook.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Culinary Director or Corporate Culinary Support Team.
