About The Position

Pleasant Point Senior Living is seeking a Cook to provide efficient, timely, and friendly service to residents and staff. The Cook maintains sanitation and safety procedures and prepares and presents high-quality food. Responsibilities include ordering, receiving, and rotating stock in coordination with the Food Service Director; reading and following recipes to ensure consistent results; and preparing and serving breakfast, lunch, or dinner as assigned. The Cook also helps meet or exceed residents’ dining expectations and performs other relevant duties as assigned by a supervisor.

Requirements

• At least one year of cooking experience, including some short-order cooking and quantity cooking.
• Must have Serv-Safe certification or be willing to obtain it upon hire.
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing, and to comprehend communications.
• Knowledge of residents’ special dietary needs and required meal preparation techniques.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and display team behaviors.
• Ability to handle conflict or customer complaints effectively.
• Ability to focus on multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Follow food safety and equipment safety procedures.
• Knowledge of and compliance with community quality standards and requirements.
• Ability to prepare short-order meals.
• Dependable, punctual, self-motivated, and able to work without constant supervision.
