About The Position

Pleasant Point Senior Living is seeking a Cook to provide efficient, timely, and friendly service to residents and staff. The role involves maintaining sanitation and safety procedures while preparing and presenting high-quality food. The Cook orders, receives, and rotates stock in coordination with the Food Service Director; follows recipes for consistent results; and prepares and serves breakfast, lunch, or dinner as assigned. The Cook also helps meet or exceed residents’ dining expectations and may perform other relevant duties assigned by a supervisor.

Requirements

• At least one year of cooking experience, including some short-order cooking and quantity cooking.
• Must possess ServSafe certification or be willing to obtain it upon hire.
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing and comprehend communications.
• Knowledge of residents’ special dietary needs and required meal-preparation techniques.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and display team behaviors.
• Ability to address conflict or customer complaints effectively.
• Ability to focus on multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Follow food safety and equipment safety procedures.
• Knowledge of and compliance with community quality standards and requirements.
• Ability to cook short orders.
• Dependable, punctual, self-motivated, and able to work without constant supervision.
• Willingness to learn new food-preparation techniques and presentation.
