About The Position

The Cook prepares menu items according to established standards and recipes, ensuring food is high quality, attractively presented, and served in a timely fashion. The role follows health and food-safety protocols, including proper hygiene, sanitary preparation, and correct food temperatures. The Cook also gets to know residents, their preferences, and their needs, and participates in resident orientations. The position is part-time at The Riverside Senior Living in Maumelle, Arkansas, working two days per week: Friday and Saturday or Sunday and Monday. The stated starting wage range is $15 to $20.50 per hour.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age.
Be able to read, write, understand, and communicate in English with residents.
Possess a current Food Handlers Card as specified by the Department of Health.
Demonstrate skills, knowledge, and competency in leadership, training, and supervision.
Have proficient written and oral communication skills with management, professional, and support staff.
Be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and stoop throughout the day.
Be able to frequently lift and/or move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
Be comfortable working in close contact with extreme temperatures, including cooking surfaces and walk-in freezers.
Be able to work primarily indoors and be available to work outside for events.
Be criminally cleared.
