About The Position

The Summit Pass Cook prepares food items on departmental menus and performs kitchen preparation, quality control, and sanitation of the work area. The role may also include dishwashing, cleaning, and other tasks assigned by a supervisor. No prior experience is necessary, although previous line cook experience is preferred. A valid Oregon Food Handlers permit is required and must be held or acquired upon hire.

This is a winter position that starts once the snow flies and the ski area opens. Summit Pass is part of Timberline ski area and is located in Government Camp, Oregon.

Requirements

• Must have a valid Oregon Food Handlers permit or acquire one upon hire.
• Must display cleanliness and sanitation practices.
• Must be efficient, detail-oriented, and capable of following established procedures.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
• Must be able to carry 50 pounds up a staircase.
• Must be able to stand and walk on feet for up to 8 hours at a time.
• Must be capable of bending and kneeling.
• Must be able to keep up with the pace and demands of the department and position.

Nice To Haves

• Previous line cook experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare all food items on departmental menus.
• Perform kitchen preparation and quality control.
• Sanitize the work area.
• Ensure orders include an electronically generated ticket.
• Participate in RLK and Company’s Health & Safety Program by identifying and reporting potential hazards, reporting incidents, and promoting a healthy workplace.
• Practice stewardship of RLK and Company facilities and environments, including reducing, reusing, and recycling when possible.
• Present a professional, quality image at all times.
• Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
• Perform additional assigned tasks, including dishwashing and cleaning.
