About The Position

Arrow Senior Living is hiring a part-time Cook at Montvale in Springfield, Illinois. The position pays $18.25–$21.25 per hour and is scheduled Mondays and Sundays, 6:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The Cook prepares menu items to established standards and recipes, presenting quality food attractively and on time. The role also follows health and sanitation protocols and gets to know residents, including their food preferences and needs. The Cook participates in resident orientations.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must be able to read, write, understand, and communicate in English with residents.
Must possess a current Food Handlers Card as specified by the Department of Health.
Demonstrated skills, knowledge, and competency in leadership, training, and supervision.
Proficient written and oral communication skills with management, professional, and support staff.
Must be criminally cleared.
Must be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and stoop throughout the day.
Must be able to frequently lift and/or move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
Must be comfortable working in close contact with extreme temperatures, including cooking surfaces and walk-in freezers.

Responsibilities

Prepare menu items according to established standards and recipes.
Provide high-quality food that is attractively presented and served in a timely fashion.
Follow health protocols, including proper hygiene, sanitary food preparation, and correct food temperatures.
Become familiar with residents, their preferences, and their needs.
Participate in resident orientations.
Be available to work outside for events, in addition to working primarily indoors.
