About The Position

Arrow Senior Living is hiring a full-time Cook at Vitalia Strongsville in Strongsville, Ohio. The position pays $18 to $25.50 per hour and is scheduled Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. The Cook prepares menu items according to established standards and recipes, presenting quality food attractively and on time. The role follows health protocols, including proper hygiene, sanitary food preparation, and correct food temperatures. The Cook also gets to know residents and their preferences and needs and participates in resident orientations. Work is primarily indoors, with availability to work outdoors for events.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must be able to read, write, understand, and communicate in English with residents.
Must possess a current Food Handlers Card as specified by the Department of Health.
Demonstrated skills, knowledge, and competency in leadership, training, and supervision.
Proficient written and oral communication skills with management, professional, and support staff.
Must be criminally cleared.
Must be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and stoop throughout the day.
Must be able to frequently lift and/or move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
Must be comfortable working near extreme temperatures, including cooking surfaces and walk-in freezers.

Responsibilities

Prepare menu items according to established standards and recipes.
Provide quality food that is attractively presented and served in a timely fashion.
Follow health protocols, including proper hygiene, sanitary food preparation, and proper food temperatures.
Become familiar with residents and their preferences and needs.
Participate in resident orientations.
Work outdoors for events when needed.
