About The Position

Meridian Senior Living is hiring a Cook to support dining services in its senior living community. The Cook works closely with the Dining Services Manager and is responsible for food ordering, preparation, and delivery, as well as kitchen sanitation. The role includes preparing food in a nutritional and appetizing manner, maintaining supplies and equipment, and providing excellent customer service to internal and external customers.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Successfully complete training as required by State regulations.
• Obtain a Food Handlers Permit if required by State regulations.
• Previous experience working with the elderly.
• Compassion for and desire to work with the elderly.
• Ability to work responsibly as a team member and independently.
• Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, vendors, and the general public.
• Meet all health requirements and pass background checks.

Nice To Haves

• Six months of prior experience in a food service department is preferred.
• Supervisory experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Order, prepare, and deliver food for the community.
• Prepare food in a nutritional and appetizing fashion.
• Maintain kitchen sanitation.
• Maintain supplies and equipment.
• Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
• Work closely with the Dining Services Manager.
