About The Position

The Cook cooks, prepares, and packages food products according to operational and quality standards. The role operates assigned food-preparation and cooking stations, follows company policies and operational standards, and performs regular cleaning and sanitation duties. The Cook reports customer or employee complaints and issues to the Manager on Duty (MOD), moves and stocks food products weighing up to 50 pounds, and performs other job-related duties as assigned or required. The position is nonexempt and has irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

• General restaurant or retail knowledge.
• Basic math and reading skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to follow directions.
• Multitasking skills.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of continuous standing, bending, reaching, moving, stooping, stretching, and lifting.
• Ability to work with frequent exposure to heat and hot liquid shortening while cooking and to freezer conditions when stocking food items.

Responsibilities

• Cook, prepare, and package food products according to operational and quality standards.
• Operate the dresser, front swamp, back swamp, grill, and food-preparation stations as assigned.
• Comply with company policies, procedures, and operational standards.
• Perform regular cleaning and sanitation, including trash disposal, mopping, sweeping, washing dishes and food-preparation tools, wiping counters, sanitizing food-preparation areas, cleaning equipment, and emptying used grease.
• Maintain regular attendance.
• Report customer or employee complaints and issues to the Manager on Duty (MOD).
• Move and stock food products weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned or required.
