About The Position

The Food and Nutrition Services Cook assists with preparing cooked foods for patients, visitors, and colleagues. The cook prepares safe, unadulterated, attractive food in accordance with applicable Texas Department of Health, Medicare, and JCAHO guidelines. The role contributes to a positive dining experience through food service, safety, and professionalism. The position is PRN.

Requirements

• Two years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare hot and cold menu items according to standard recipes for patients, employees, cafeteria customers, physicians, community agencies, and catering events.
• Maintain kitchen equipment to standard.
• Assist with storing deliveries.
• Maintain the kitchen area to state-required sanitary standards.
• Complete duties while adhering to hospital safety standards and policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
