About The Position

The Prep Cook assists in the preparation of various dishes in the kitchen. They perform routine kitchen tasks such as setting up workstations and preparing ingredients efficiently within the established “Lev Group” standards.

Requirements

  • Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
  • Knowledge of health and safety rules in a kitchen
  • Must be able to perform in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Minimum 2 years kitchen preparation and experience; (or) equivalent combination of education and experience

Responsibilities

  • Follow the prep list created by chefs to plan duties
  • Label and stock all ingredients on shelves so they can be organized and easily accessible
  • Measure ingredients and seasonings to be used in cooking
  • Undertake basic cooking duties such as reducing sauces, parboiling food etc.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, taking out trash etc.
  • Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
  • Comply with nutrition and sanitation guidelines
  • Perform other kitchen duties as assigned
  • Possess a can-do attitude, is passionate and strives for excellence
  • All other job duties assigned
