About The Position

The Prep Cook must have a sincere desire to serve older adults. Continually striving to provide the best in service through attention to detail and efficiency.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and write and implement own work schedule.
  • Basic knowledge of the principles of food preparation and garnish as well as the ability to use certain kitchen equipment.
  • Must be mentally alert and possess accuracy in measuring food ingredients and portions.
  • Must be able to prepare foods of high quality in specified quantities.
  • Some basic knowledge of food is required.
  • Training will consist of one (1) week of on-the-job training.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares all food items required on the next-day menu. Properly stores all prepared food in walk-in, wrap, label, and date.
  • Prepares food items as required by following the production sheets including special diets for the Pavilion.
  • Washes all large equipment used in preparation using proper sanitizer.
  • Keeps work area clean, and sanitizes bucket in use at all times.
  • Serves meal room meals daily and dinner line.
  • Performs all duties as assigned.
